Celebrating employee long service and training

This May, Brunelcare held their Learning & Development awards evening dinner celebration in Bristol, to celebrate employee success.

73 people were invited to collect their Long Service award, a total of 995 years of service no less! 21 people were also invited to collect their Learning & Development award.

A total of 76 people were able to attend the evening hosted by Brunelcare’s Senior Management Team, with the awards presented by Brunelcare’s CEO Paula Kennedy. Brunelcare’s Chair of Trustees, Steve Boardman, also attended.

Brunelcare place great value on the commitment of our employees, and in return aim to be an employer of choice through their training, support and development; involving staff as key stakeholders. Throughout their employment, all employees are encouraged to make the most of opportunities to learn, develop skills and reach their full potential.

A spokesperson from Brunelcare’s HR team says,

“Despite facing challenging times in the sector and continuing cuts from local government, Brunelcare continues to invest in providing learning and development opportunities for its biggest asset – its people – reaping the benefit in high levels of commitment and skills, as evidenced by the long service of so many of our employees and our reputation for high quality care”.

Highlights of the awards and celebration evening included a 25-year long service award for Joe Little, Maintenance Electrician in Brunelcare’s Maintenance Team. His Manager, Alex Muscat, said:

“What can I say about Joe that people don’t already know? He started with Brunelcare 25 years ago and he hasn’t put his electrical tester down since! Joe has seen employees all come and go - CEO’s, Directors and employees he works side by side with.

Joe is one of the good ones and is an absolute asset to Brunelcare. Thanks for all of the work that you’ve put in over the years Joe… It has all been greatly appreciated.”

Learning and Development awards also presented on the night included: NVQ 3 in Customer Service – Rebecca Le Peuple, APM Project Management Qualification – Katie Moloney, Culture Change in Dementia Care Diploma – Rogemar Placido, Anazel Pantaleon, Shirley Lord and Buba Touray.

Well done to all our employees who received their awards!
