Celebrating achievement at our Friends Day!

Yesterday we celebrated success and achievement from across Brunelcare at our annual ‘Friend’s Day’ held at M-Shed in Bristol!

Our CEO Kevin Fairman was joined by teams representing the whole charity who bravely stood up to share with assembled tenants, Trustees, directors, previous directors, friends, colleagues and business partners all of Brunelcare's wonderful achievements over the last 12 months – with a few jokes thrown in!

We heard all about our recent CQC rating success and what it takes to be ‘Outstanding’ at Deerhurst, how we are doing so much to reduce hospital admissions and improving hospital discharges and heard about the significance of our Investers In People re-accreditation. We watched our latest recruitment video that has been widely viewed on Facebook and shared news that we have two of the first care homes in Bristol and South Gloucestershire to have been accredited by Gold Standards Framework for their end of life care – and what it took to achieve that.

We were lucky to be joined by The Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Bristol, Councillor Lesley Alexander who stayed all afternoon and chatted with tenants (see photo inset), friends and colleagues.

Results were announced and awarded for our Tenants’ Photography Competition, our Brunelcare in Bloom gardening competition and the Community Awards – for colleagues and tenants. Plenty of awards this year and it was wonderful to share thanks for the vital contributions those individuals have made!

This was also the perfect occasion to publically thank Paul Musgrove, our Development Director, for his significant contribution to Brunelcare as he nears his retirement. Spot the beautifully hand-crafted wooden egg box that Pete Uzzell, from our Maintenance Team, made for Paul as our retirement present!
