Brunelcare’s ABC Centre extra care housing scheme received a boost in two ways this summer!
Firstly, fantastic teams of volunteers from Lloyds Bank and RBS in Bristol have provided support to ABC Centre (team pictured, right) on three separate days this summer! In June a team from Lloyds Bank redecorated the indoor and outdoor communal areas at the ABC Centre. Following this, volunteers from RBS helped run the Centre’s street party in July and then in August a team of volunteers from Lloyds Bank returned again to do more interior painting!
This volunteer support is highly appreciated by Brunelcare and the centre’s tenants and has significantly improved the indoor and outdoor living environment.
Secondly, on 26th August 2017 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) also awarded Brunelcare’s ABC Centre an overall rating of ‘Good’ in all five inspection categories!
In the full CQC report, a CQC inspector says:
“During the day we were struck by the relaxed and homely atmosphere at the ABC Centre. People and staff seemed to enjoy each other’s company. People were engaged in conversation with each other and staff and there was a real sense of relaxation and fun.”
ABC Centre Manager, Lisa Brain, says:
“I am really proud of the whole care team, everyone has worked hard to turn a building into a home, a great place to live in and work in. They really are ABC’s earth angels.”
